Course Overview
Treatment of wastewater is a relatively modern practice. It was not until the late 19th century that large cities realized that they had to reduce the amount of pollutants they were discharging into the environment. In oil & gas, waste water also becomes a problem that can not easily treat.
This practical approach course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Waste Water Treatment. The aim of this training is to make all participants know and understand how to handle and treat waste water that is needed to be conducted especially in oil, gas, mining and manufacturing industries. It will be presented in order to fulfill the needs of supervisory and managerial level especially in environmental division, or workers who his daily work related to waste management.

Instructor
Ir. Edwan Kardena, PhD.
He is a leading scientist and engineer in the field of microbial process for bioremediation of organic and toxic chemicals, such as petroleum hydrocarbons and halogenated compounds. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University College of Wales in Cardiff, United Kingdom in the field of Environmental Microbiology/Biotechnology in 1995. He is currently known as a lecturer in the Department of Environmental Engineering ITB.
Expert in the design of several waste/produced water treatment plants including for PT Keris Mas Witicko Makmur, Tempeh Industry in Bekasi, Cyanide degradation in tailing water of PT Aneka Tambang, Bioleaching Process for Gold Recovery in PT Aneka Tambang. Evaluation and redesign industrial waste water treatment plant such as in PT Gaya Motor, Jakarta. Balongan and Conoco Philip (evaluation only)
Giving courses and paper regarding produced handling and treatment especially for hazardous produced chemicals. Biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbon (Pertamina UP VI Balongan, UNOCAL). Bioremediation of contaminated site, case study: Bandung Rail Way Station. Unocal soil sample quality analysis. Treatment of produced water of oil and gas industry, Industrial Waste management. Team Leader in several studies related with urban infrastructure. Lecturer or Tutor at several short courses held by Government institution such as Bapedal, Bapedalda, Pemda. Team leader in several bioremediation design and project, research and supervision in oil and gas industry such as in VICO, Prabumulih, Conocophilips, PT CPI.

DOCUMENTATION

Note-taking by participants is encouraged. However, to ensure free and open discussions, no formal records will be kept.
CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

- Registration Form MUST be return in advance for attending the Training
- Full fixed fee is charged regardless of the length of time that registrant attends the Training
- Attendees are expected to attend all Training sessions and are not permitted to attend on a partial basis.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
- Cancellation received after the registration deadline, November 30, 2009 entitles the registrant to received 25% refund.
- Cancellation on the date will be recharged 100% from the fee
- No refund will be issued, if a registrant fails to show up at the Training on-site.
