OVERVIEW
Health care facilities present workers with a myriad of potential health and safety hazards. Compared with the total civilian workforce, hospital workers have a greater percentage of suffering from sprains and strains, infectious and parasitic diseases, dermatitis, hepatitis, mental disorders, eye diseases, influenza, and toxic hepatitis. Although much of the information here was obtained from studies conducted in hospitals, it can also be applied to health care workers in other settings, including outpatient clinics, nursing homes, acute care centers, physicians’ and dentists’ office, blood banks, and private residences.
OBJECTIVES
The specific objectives of this course were to enable you to:
- Understand factors that influence the health and safety in the health care facilities.
- Prevent the health care workers from accidents and Occupational Illness;
- Understand to implement Occupational Health Management Programme in the health care facilities;
- Understand how to avoid nosocomial infection (“hospital acquired infection”) in the health care facilities;
- Identify methods to decrease medical errors (patient safety);
- Promote education and training for health care workers to improve workplace health.

Courses are aimed at managers, supervisors, workers, people working from their homes,
occupational health nurses, occupational therapists, chiropractors, health and safety representatives and health and safety professionals.

Dr. Abdul Baktiansyah, MS
Beliau sangat berpengalaman dalam Kesehatan Kerja (Health) selama hampir 30 tahun. Pendidikan formal beliau didapat dari Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Airlangga pada tahun 1979, dan Magister of Science dalam Kedokteran Okupasi dari Bagian Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia (2004), beliau juga sering mengikuti berbagai training baik itu di dalam maupun di luar negeri yang berkaitan dengan Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja. Perjalanan Karir beliau sebagai praktisi kesehatan kerja dimulai sejak tahun 1982 – 2005, dimana beliau pernah mengemban jabatan sebagai Chief Medical Officer pada PT. Ekspan Kalimantan dan kemudian menjadi Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Coordinator pada PT. Medco Energy E&P. Sekarang ini beliau aktif sebagai trainer & konsultan pada bidang Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene.
