  • Various insulation material
  • Application of insulation in electrical system
  • Method to measure and testing of insulation
  • Maintenance of electrical insulation

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Define insulation electrical problem
  • Role and function of insulation in electric power system
  • International standard and code of electrical insulation:
    • Hazardous area classification
    • Non-hazardous area classification
  • Characteristic of dielectric materials
  • Interaction between dielectric material with electric field based on type of insulation material; gas, liquid, and solid
  • Stress, penetration stress and penetration probability, stress-time curve, and insulation coordination
  • The Use of insulator and level of insulation for:
    • Electrical equipment
    • Cables
    • Transformer
    • Electric motor
    • Generator
    • Circuit breaker, etc
  • Characteristic of various insulators :
    • SF6
    • Vacuum
    • Gas,
    • Composite, etc
  • Measurement and diagnostic of dielectric, and insulator testing
  • Maintenance of electrical equipment isolation
  • Case study
